Mourinho is undoubtedly one of the most renowned coaches today. However, despite his fame, his coaching record has been declining in recent years, leaving some feeling disappointed. Some argue that Mourinho is now just living off his reputation, and his tactical ideas are outdated. But is this really the case?

Mourinho first stunned the world when he led Porto to win the Champions League. Porto was considered a dark horse at the time, and it was Mourinho's first time in the spotlight. Although Chelsea's owner Abramovich quickly noticed Mourinho and brought him to Stamford Bridge, Mourinho successfully led Chelsea to their first Premier League title. He then went on to coach Inter Milan and Real Madrid, helping both teams win league titles or Champions League trophies. It can be said that the first half of Mourinho's coaching career was a success.

After joining Manchester United, despite not achieving the same success as before, he still led the struggling team to second place in the league, as well as winning the Europa League, League Cup, and Community Shield, achieving a minor treble. His professional turning point came when he coached Tottenham Hotspur, where he failed to win any trophies for the first time in his career at a club. After being sacked by Tottenham, Mourinho joined Roma, a Serie A team with less exposure. However, he was also swiftly dismissed by Roma and has not coached any team since then.

Some believe that Mourinho's defensive counter-attacking tactics are outdated in this era, and he can no longer coach top clubs. However, others oppose this view. According to British media outlet onefootball, commentator Keith disagrees with this notion, believing that Mourinho is not outdated, he just needs another chance to prove himself. The most suitable position for him now is the managerial role at Newcastle United. The current manager, Eddie Howe, evidently lacks the ability to lead Newcastle to higher levels. With Mourinho's championship experience and the financial backing from the Middle East behind Newcastle, there is a real opportunity to turn them into a true powerhouse, just as he did with Chelsea.

Of course, this is just one journalist's personal opinion. The reality is that Mourinho is currently very idle, so we can only hope for him to return to coaching a team to prove himself once again!

I believe Mourinho still has the capability. Perhaps he just needs some further optimization.

Mourinho relies heavily on a pragmatic tactical system. Every time he takes charge, he typically begins by making significant investments in players tailored to his system. It must be acknowledged that his judgment in player selection is usually sound. However, his constant demand for player turnover leads to a decline in performance after three to five years.

To be honest, the tactical system of Mourinho and Guardiola is still very formidable. However, the current problem lies in the players. The older generation of players can't keep up anymore, while the younger ones don't understand Mourinho's football style at all. As a result, they can't play the way Mourinho wants. This has led to the current awkward situation. There's no way around it.

"It seems he's sticking to his old tactics, playing 4-3-3 with the front three expected to track back defensively, relying on individual strength and speed. However, his motivational methods might not be as effective anymore. He used to maintain good personal relationships with players, relying on his charisma and inspirational speeches to push them to give their all for him and the team. But nowadays, the younger players, born in the 1990s, 1995s, and even the 2000s, may not respond well to this approach. With high salaries, they might feel like they're just doing a job rather than passionately playing for the team.

Newcastle seems like a good fit for him, and I hope he can make a comeback. It would be great to see his passionate side again, throwing his Premier League medal to the fans with excitement."

This summer, there will be many in-demand coaches looking for jobs, so I think the chances for Mourinho aren't very high. His personality doesn't seem to fit with the top European clubs anymore, as evidenced by his dismissal from Roma. Even though many supported Mourinho during his time at Roma, he was still unexpectedly sacked. If even a relatively weaker club like Roma treated him this way, I doubt Newcastle would pursue him. Additionally, with Financial Fair Play regulations in place, Newcastle won't be able to spend unlimited amounts on players, so their strength won't differ greatly from this season. Considering Newcastle's current standing, breaking into the top four will be incredibly challenging. However, for a wealthy club like Newcastle, failing to qualify for the Champions League would be considered a failure. So even if Mourinho were to join Newcastle, the likelihood of him being made a scapegoat is greater than his chances of success.

This summer, with the European Championship taking place, Mourinho's tactical philosophy would actually suit national teams well. After the Euros, if strong national teams invite Mourinho to coach, I believe that would be a better option for him than joining a club. As he's getting older, coaching a national team would be relatively less stressful, with fewer conflicts arising from less frequent interactions with players. Therefore, coaching a national team would be a better choice for him. Winning a World Cup or European Championship would maintain Mourinho's prestigious reputation as the determined coach he's always been.

Mourinho's capabilities are beyond doubt, as he has already proven himself at Porto, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Chelsea. As ordinary individuals, we must look up to the legendary figure who has won Champions League trophies and league titles effortlessly. Despite the ups and downs over the years, Mourinho's towering stature remains undeniable. Unfortunately, Real Madrid parted ways with him despite assembling a championship-winning team. Zidane achieved great success thereafter. At Chelsea, Mourinho built a solid team only for Conte to claim the trophy. His tenure at Tottenham ended abruptly before a final, which was truly disgraceful. Even during his challenging stint at Roma, he managed to secure a trophy. Mourinho is still relatively young and has many more miraculous feats and moments of glory to come.
