This situation indeed can be perplexing, and sometimes it's hard not to form negative judgments about such individuals.
However, we also need to consider this issue from another perspective. Perhaps this father has reasons that we don't understand, leading him to stop working. It could be health issues or other life challenges that prevent him from working like a regular person. In such cases, we should be more understanding and compassionate, rather than judging a person solely based on surface observations.

This relative's wife and children may have their own duties and responsibilities, and their willingness to support this father is also out of familial duty and emotional connection. In this family, perhaps this mode of support and mutual assistance suits them best, which doesn't imply that the father is worthless or useless.
Most importantly, we should respect everyone's choices and lifestyles. Every family has its own way of dealing with life's challenges and difficulties, and we can't measure everyone with the same yardstick. Perhaps this father plays other significant roles in the family, such as being the caregiver or emotional support. In such cases, his contributions may be far greater than we can imagine.
Therefore, when we encounter similar situations, we should be more cautious and understanding. We shouldn't hastily judge someone, but rather pay closer attention to their environment, life circumstances, and the roles they play within the family.
