The committee is chaired by the great Kumar Sangakkara and they are also the ones who make the laws of cricket. They have proposed that from 2028 onwards, all Test series should have at least three matches. This is part of the next ICC FTP cycle, which will start in eight years. Test cricket has been losing its charm and appeal for a long time. Nowadays, most people prefer to watch the shorter formats of the game, like ODIs and T20s. Test cricket is seen as too long and boring by many. It is rare to see a full house for a five-day match. But the ICC has also been trying to revive Test cricket. They have introduced the day-night Tests with the pink ball and the World Test Championship to make it more exciting and competitive. They have also allowed the players to wear their names and numbers on their shirts in Test cricket.
