Sunrisers Hyderabad announced the inclusion of young Sri Lankan leg spinner Vijayakanth Viyaskanth as a replacement for the injured Wanindu Hasaranga in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.

Viyaskanth, aged 22 and a member of the Sri Lankan national team with one T20I appearance, joins Sunrisers for a base price of Rs 50 lakh. The statement mentioned Viyaskanth's signing as a replacement for Hasaranga in the remainder of the IPL 2024 season. Hasaranga, bought by Sunrisers for Rs 1.5 crore last year, was sidelined due to chronic heel pain in his left foot.
