Manchester United castoff Sancho shines on the Champions League stage, outshining even the world's top three players like Mbappé. But with Sancho's outstanding performance comes a new question: if Sancho is so talented, why can't Manchester United utilize him properly? Could it be that Manchester United is truly a black hole for stars?
I've previously discussed the saga between Sancho and Manchester United, so I won't delve into it again here. In short, Sancho struggled at United, and controversial comments from manager Ten Hag during a press conference fueled Sancho's dissatisfaction, ultimately leading to discord between player and coach, and Sancho's departure to Borussia Dortmund. It was thought that Sancho's career might have hit rock bottom after joining Dortmund, but his resurgence has been remarkable. He has successfully dribbled past opponents 12 times in the Champions League, becoming the only English player in Champions League history to achieve this feat in a single match.
Sancho's excellent performances have only cost Dortmund a loan fee of €4 million, while Manchester United spent €80 million to acquire him. Considering Sancho's struggles at United, this deal can be considered a significant loss for the club. Reflecting on Manchester United's transfer dealings in recent years, most signings, like Sancho, have been focused on acquiring star power, but many have failed to live up to expectations, further reinforcing the notion of Manchester United as a black hole for stars.
Will Sancho return to Manchester United? After the Champions League match, Sancho stated that he was unsure about his future at Dortmund, but he wants to help Dortmund win their first-ever Champions League title. As for others, such as Italian legend Del Piero, who praised Sancho on CBS, saying, "In matches of this caliber, if you have a player performing at the level of Sancho, then he should go to Manchester United."
As for whether Sancho will eventually return to Manchester United, let's wait and see! |
