The discussions between the committee and competitive investors regarding the proposal for six new gambling licenses in Macau have entered the final stages. There are seven companies competing, and the results of who will be eliminated and who will be granted licenses will be revealed by the end of the year. According to reports from Macau Portuguese Radio, the Macau Gaming Bidding and Investment Committee held a meeting with bidding investment companies on the 11th to discuss the total investment of approximately 100 billion Macau patacas within the newly approved contract period. It is understood that discussions between the committee and competitors have reached their final stages, and consensus has been reached for the ten-year new gambling licenses.
According to sources cited by Macau Portuguese Radio, the total investment by the concessionaires within the new gambling license period is approximately 100 billion Macau patacas. Galaxy Entertainment is expected to invest around 20 billion patacas, while Sands China and others will invest less than 20 billion patacas. Furthermore, the Macau government has emphasized that concessionaires must introduce non-gaming elements during the new gambling licenses. In order to attract visitors from mainland China and other countries, the concessionaires are required to create a range of activities and initiatives.
The report also mentions that in the coming decade, Macau will host several long-standing events, including the Macau Grand Prix or international marathons, as well as other activities organized by the government and local associations. Additionally, Macau may establish new attractions such as a water show. |
