Ubisoft has launched a new game without NFTs.

Ubisoft is known for its games, and many PlayStation players might be familiar with them. Ubisoft recently announced an upcoming team battle arena game with two significant disclaimers: it's not just a battle royale, and it doesn't have NFTs.

Ubisoft stated that they would be releasing a game codenamed Project Q, offering players a true team-based arena experience. The game is still in its early development stage, and Ubisoft plans to continue testing it. Players interested in the upcoming Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC tests can register on Ubisoft's website. However, there's no information about when the testing will be available or whether the game will be free to play in its final form.

Ubisoft did assure players that the "Q" in Project Q doesn't stand for Quartz, which is the name of the company's NFT project that was introduced in Ghost Recon. Leaked footage of the Q project by video game leaker Tom Henderson suggests that Project Q has an aesthetic resembling Fortnite meets Overwatch. So far, it seems to have two modes: Unmask (battle royale) and Zone (territory control). As the game is still in early development, all of this is subject to change.

Ubisoft released a short-lived battle royale game called Hyper Scape in 2020. The futuristic shooter transformed the traditional battle royale genre, but its popularity declined rapidly, leading to its closure on April 28, 2022. In the midst of the NFT craze, Ubisoft's decision not to include NFTs in this new game is noteworthy.

I guess the metaverse wouldn't want Ubisoft to introduce NFTs either, because it's widely known that Ubisoft excels at creating all sorts of bugs.
