The Metaverse has truly arrived! Many games and platforms are starting Metaverse 1.0 Ver. Meta (formerly Facebook) opened its first physical store in the United States on May 9th, where you can experience the virtual world of the Metaverse.
The Meta Store is located in Burlingame, California, covering an area of 150 square feet (approximately 144 square meters). It's expected to be crowded as many people are curious about the Meta Metaverse. Visitors can try and purchase virtual reality headsets and other devices for free on the opening day. The store will showcase the Quest 2 VR headset, Portal video calling device, and Ray-Ban augmented reality (AR) glasses. If you're not in the United States, you can also make purchases online at meta.com. Meta had previously announced its plans to test the sale of digital assets and tools for experiences within its virtual reality platform, Horizon Worlds.
Horizon Worlds is Meta's virtual reality platform launched at the end of last year. The company also stated that it would charge creators of digital experiences and assets a 47.5% fee, which has received some criticism from app developers. VR enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the next generation of the Quest 2 virtual reality headset, which is expected to be released in the second quarter. Analysts widely believe that this product will be crucial to the company's Metaverse plans. Meta has made significant sacrifices for the Metaverse, and Mark Zuckerberg, the world's richest person, has also suffered heavy losses.
The Metaverse is an immersive digital environment that we can enter using VR and AR headsets, where we can live, work, and play together. |
