On November 19th, former Warriors general manager Bob Myers recently gave an interview.
Speaking about his communication with Stephen Curry regarding the team's operations, Myers said, "Stephen Curry never insists on anything. It's not in his nature. But does he want to know? Yes, he deserves to know. If anyone deserves to know, it's him, among all the athletes I've encountered. You might say no one is more qualified than Stephen Curry to know what's happening with the team. But if you know him, and I think many fans do, you'll find that he's not a behind-the-scenes general manager. His best compliment to me is always 'you're better at this than I am.' But that doesn't mean I won't go to him and say, 'this is our idea.' It's a savvy business move. But if people want to quote something from 'Countdown' (the ESPN show Myers participated in) as the reason Jordan Poole was traded, that's okay, they can do that if they want. The fact is not like that." |
