Two Premier League giants, Manchester City and Chelsea, face a huge crisis of point deduction or even relegation! What's the matter? Let me slowly explain why these two powerhouses are in this crisis!

Let's start with another Premier League team, Everton. Due to violating Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), Everton was penalized with a deduction of 10 points. Now, Everton has only 4 league points left, and if their performance doesn't improve, relegation is highly likely. The 10-point deduction is the largest in Premier League history. Everton expressed dissatisfaction with this decision and will appeal.

After the punishment announcement, Everton's official statement included an intriguing remark, saying they will patiently await the FA's decisions regarding other teams. This implies our two protagonists today, Chelsea and Manchester City. Everton only violated one financial fair play law and received a 10-point deduction. In contrast, Manchester City faces 115 formal violations, and Chelsea is under scrutiny for significant expenditures during the tenure of former owner Roman Abramovich, possibly violating Premier League rules. The rules they violated are more severe both in quantity and quality compared to Everton's.

Therefore, according to Martyn Ziegler, a reporter from The Times, if the charges are confirmed by an independent regulatory committee, Manchester City or Chelsea could face a deduction of 30 points or automatic relegation from the Premier League. If the final punishment aligns with this reporter's speculation, it would create significant turmoil for the entire teams and even the Premier League itself. Currently, Manchester City is preparing a legal team to challenge the 115 charges, while Chelsea has not commented on the matter.

I actually hope that Manchester City directly relegates to the English Championship, and if Chelsea follows suit, the next Championship season would be quite lively. It would be a fierce and intense battle. The key for me is that I am a Manchester United fan. If Manchester City goes down, we will have one less competitor for the Premier League title, and they are the biggest rival. The competition would be less intense, and it would be advantageous for my team.

If they are truly being punished,  then it's their own fault.

This season has been tough for Everton, with more setbacks than successes. Relegation isn't the biggest concern; the fear is a financial collapse. Otherwise, they could bounce back to the Premier League after a season. As for Manchester City, the point deduction affects their title and Champions League qualifications. It all depends on the performance of the legal team.

Indeed, this matter surfaced last season, and at that time, I thought Arsenal could potentially clinch the championship after 20 years relying on this. However, Manchester City didn't face any issues, and this season, Everton, which wasn't mentioned last season, is now facing penalties. It's just unfortunate for Everton. The team has struggled in recent years, constantly hovering around the relegation zone. Despite spending a considerable amount of money and enduring numerous defeats, they always manage to narrowly avoid relegation. However, Everton's spending, no matter how significant, can't compare to that of Manchester City and Chelsea. Currently, there are accusations, but the punishment is yet to be issued. Manchester City strongly denies violating the Financial Fair Play regulations, and they claim to have sufficient evidence to defend themselves in court. However, most people believe that Manchester City has indeed breached the regulations, making it a contentious issue. The amount involved with Manchester City is enormous, to the extent that industry experts estimate it will take several years to resolve. So, it's unlikely that Manchester City will face penalties this season. Whether they will be penalized in the coming years is known only to the English Football Association. It's just unfortunate for Everton, the unlucky one in this situation.

It's like refusing to be punished alone and insisting on dragging companions along to hell together.
