On November 27th, news came that Warriors forward Draymond Green was interviewed after today's training.
During his suspension, Green observed three main issues with the team: spacing, defense, and turnovers. He mentioned that he knows he can help address the first two issues, and he hopes the third one doesn't worsen.
Green stated, "The biggest help I bring is demanding that everyone communicates, not coming back and everyone saying, 'Oh, he's the savior.' That crap doesn't work. There's no savior in the NBA. But what I can do is come back and make more people accountable."
During his suspension, Green only took one day of rest, spending a lot of time practicing shooting and weightlifting. Last week, he also traveled with the team to Phoenix, where he trained and was able to play with other teammates.
Green will face the Kings in his comeback game, which is also a midseason tournament determining playoff qualification.
"It's going to be like a Game 7. The atmosphere, the excitement, the anxiety. The feeling I'm looking forward to is that it's going to be like a Game 7," Green said. |
