Unexpectedly, Shanghai's esports industry has surged onto the global stage with lightning speed, striving to become the esports capital of the world.
The Shanghai Esports Association, in collaboration with several professional institutions, released the '2021 Global Famous Esports City Industry Development Index Indicator System Design and Ranking Report,' marking the first evaluation of 15 cities globally dedicated to developing into esports hubs. Shanghai secured the second position in the 2021 global ranking of famous esports cities, just behind Los Angeles in the United States. It stands at the forefront among all Asian cities and serves as the pioneer of esports development among all Chinese cities, showcasing Shanghai's vibrancy and influence in the esports industry. It is noteworthy that while Shanghai is ranked second in the overall ranking, it claims the first position globally in the 'Events' and 'Infrastructure' indicators.
Since the goal is to become the global esports capital, Shanghai's esports industry is not stopping at the current achievements.
