We first need to understand the differences between amateur and professional players. The distinction lies in the fact that amateur players play games as a hobby, without the need for strict rules and systems. They don't impose strict demands on themselves during games. Professional players, on the other hand, are different. They rigorously demand excellence from themselves in every match, striving to perform at their best. In addition to the rigorous training, professional esports players are also prone to some professional hazards. Players who spend long hours in front of the computer practicing may develop issues like hunchback, myopia, lumbar disc herniation, shoulder muscle injuries, tenosynovitis, and other symptoms.

In reality, only a small number of players can reach the top-tier competitions. Many players may only be able to participate in second-tier competitions or serve as substitutes.

Furthermore, the career lifespan in esports is very brief. The ideal training age for professional players is around 18 years old, reaching their peak around 20-22 years old, and retiring before the age of 25. In the esports industry, there are various opportunities after retirement, such as transitioning to become a head coach, team manager, or esports education teacher. However, it also depends on individual capabilities. Players in higher positions during their professional careers can transition more easily.

If a player enters the esports profession and remains unknown or is eliminated halfway through, it can have a significant impact on future development. Since professional players are often young and lack formal education, there are limited avenues for transition, such as streaming, commentary, coaching, or analyst roles. Transitioning to other industries can be challenging. Many players who can't continue competing may return to school. Some older players might become practice partners, earn money, and invest in other industries. Therefore, if you want to turn playing games into a career, you must be prepared to invest a lot. There is no such thing as having it all; sacrifices must be made to achieve success.

In reality, professional players not only need to excel in gaming but also possess a comprehensive set of qualities to be successful, such as emotional management, self-discipline, and more.
