Habits are deeply ingrained by the time we become aware of them. What are habits?
Doing things impulsively for three minutes is a habit; spending money recklessly is a habit; enjoying snacks is a habit; laziness is a habit; smoking and drinking are habits; giving up halfway is a habit; eating spinach is a habit.
Before understanding habits, I thought that eating spinach was a conscious decision. However, after observing myself, I realized that eating spinach is also a habit, something done solely out of routine! Just like how I habitually eat spinach every day after dinner, I originally thought it was something I wanted to do, aiming to win money. However, it's something I unconsciously find myself doing. Opening the computer is something that happens naturally. If I don't do it, I feel like something is missing from my day, like I've missed something.
Hence, there is a saying: initially, we shape our habits, but in the end, our habits shape us. |
