Once upon a time, there was a story about a crow and a dove living in a small forest. One day, the crow decided to leave and bid farewell to its friend, the dove. The dove asked, "Why are you moving away?" The crow replied, "Honestly, I don't want to leave, but the people here are unfriendly to me. They dislike my cawing and don't welcome me to stay. I truly cannot endure it any longer." After pondering for a while, the dove said these words to the crow: "Friend, if you don't change your voice, no matter where you fly, no one will welcome you." This is known as the Law of the Crow.
In the world of gambling, I had many gambling friends. In the past, every time I lost money, I would borrow from friends to gamble. Over time, I found that my circle of friends was getting smaller. Initially, I was unaware of this until a friend told me not to keep exploiting my friends. It was then that I woke up. This person can be considered my benefactor because without their advice, I might have continued thinking that this was how true friends should be. In the past, I used to visit their homes for meals and stay overnight in the living room, as I didn't want to go home. Although they didn't refuse me, over time, they became afraid even just to see me.
So, kindness from friends is not guaranteed; one must learn to be grateful. When you understand gratitude, you'll realize you receive even more! |
