What do adults fear the most? Many people might think it's achieving nothing in their career, but I believe that what adults fear the most is the serious illness of their parents during the crucial period of striving in their career.
There's a saying that goes, ""First establish a family, then pursue a career."" Why is there a sequence? Because it's challenging to balance both at the same time, especially taking care of parents. Let me illustrate with a scenario: waiting the whole day in the hospital with parents to see a doctor, understand the illness, and follow up on their condition.
One day might be manageable, but what if it's an extended period? How can a working person continuously take leave? I've seen my neighbor, a young lady, facing such a situation. Besides work, her time is dedicated to accompanying her parents to the hospital. Every time I see her, she is either on her way to work or heading to the hospital, dealing with quite a stressful situation.
Parents must be taken care of, and filial piety is necessary because it's our responsibility as children. But what about parents? They need to take care of themselves too. As a parent myself, I hope to have my children by my side when I'm sick and helpless. However, I will also take care of myself as long as I have the ability because I know that taking care of oneself is the most considerate love for the family.
I used to stay up late enjoying barbecue and gambling, but when health issues arose, I panicked. Now, I still gamble, but I won't choose to gamble overnight. I also won't indulge in takeout while gambling, turning myself into someone overweight. Remember, gambling often involves long periods of sitting, but don't sit for too long. Remember to stand up, walk around, stretch, and keep your body active. It keeps you energetic and is good for your health.
So, continue gambling but don't forget to take care of yourself, okay? |
