I don't know if everyone has ever played basketball, badminton, or any other ball games. Yesterday, I played badminton with my brothers. At the beginning, the score was close, so we played with great enthusiasm. However, as the score gradually widened, I lost interest.
I don't know if anyone has had this feeling, that when the score is close, you still strive to catch up. But when the score starts to drift far apart, there's a feeling of having the will but not the ability, and playing becomes increasingly irritating. Even if you try hard, there's a high chance of losing. If you don't try, you might miss the opportunity to win.
Actually, gambling gives me a similar feeling. In the beginning, I win this round, but then I lose several rounds. The first time I lose, it feels okay, not too far behind. But if I keep losing, seeing that the current capital is less than the original, I start to feel uneasy. Afterward, I win a few rounds back, but there's still a significant gap between the wins and losses. If I continue chasing, there's a high chance of losing. However, if I don't chase, I might miss the chance to win later. If I have to choose only one, what would I choose? I choose not to choose; I'll lie down wherever I fall. |
