With Ronaldo and Messi's departure, football enters a new era dominated by young talents. Among them, Mbappé, Haaland, and Bellingham stand out. The latest 2024 Ballon d'Or odds place Bellingham at the forefront. The competition among the three intensifies, but Bellingham's rising star could lead him to be the first to win the prestigious award.

Initially, Mbappé and Haaland were expected to succeed the Messi-Ronaldo era. However, Bellingham's unexpected emergence created a trio rivalry. Currently excelling at Real Madrid, Bellingham's performances and the team's Champions League prospects make him a strong contender. With potential European Championship success with England, he holds an advantage.

Mbappé faces challenges with PSG's European performance, while Haaland's national team struggles contrast with his club success at Manchester City. Bellingham, with relative advantages, leads the Ballon d'Or odds. Though odds are one thing, actual achievements depend on on-field performances. The race for the first Ballon d'Or in this trio remains uncertain, adding anticipation to the football world.

This year, all three players have a strong chance of making it to the final list for the Ballon d'Or. However, besides individual statistics, team and national performance play a crucial role. Haaland faces a natural disadvantage in this aspect.

Who wins the Ballon d'Or doesn't matter to me anymore. The era of my beloved Messi has passed. Witnessing numerous games between Messi and Ronaldo, I feel life is worthwhile. As a coach once said, after witnessing the rivalry between the best players, all other players become mere accompaniments, and even the best meal doesn't taste as good.

At the moment, Bellingham indeed has the greatest advantage. However, if Benzema were to transfer to Real Madrid, the situation might change. In any case, I hope these three players can progress together and deliver more exciting matches for the fans.

This year, with the European Championship underway and Ronaldo and Messi stepping away from mainstream competitions, the performance in major national team tournaments will likely determine the Ballon d'Or recipient. The high probability suggests that the winner will emerge from the team that clinches the European Championship. Unless Haaland delivers an exceptional performance and Manchester City secures both the Premier League and Champions League titles, his chances are limited, as Norway does not qualify for the Euros.

Considering the strengths of European teams, France and England are strong contenders, especially after France narrowly missed defending their World Cup title. Mbappé, consistently impressive in national team competitions, stands out. With Paris Saint-Germain facing stiff competition this year, Mbappé can focus on resting during club matches and bring top form to the Euros. If France wins the championship and Mbappé claims the top scorer title, the Ballon d'Or is likely his.

Bellingham's England is also a strong candidate, but England tends to falter in major tournaments. Despite being a favorite, England might face challenges, and Bellingham might have to wait for his chance. Additionally, Real Madrid's lack of a powerful striker may hinder Bellingham's club success in the Champions League, potentially impacting his Ballon d'Or prospects.

Let's not forget the resilient presence of Ronaldo. If Portugal secures the championship, he could be a contender for the Ballon d'Or. Ultimately, the Ballon d'Or winner this year will likely hinge on the European Championship outcome. Mbappé has the highest probability, followed by Haaland, with Bellingham having a lower chance due to various factors.

I think Bellingham still stands a good chance.
