According to renowned NBA reporter Woj, James Harden has been fined $100,000 by the league for publicly criticizing 76ers General Manager Daryl Morey, whom he referred to as a ""fraud"" during an interview while in China. The NBA conducted an investigation into the matter and ultimately determined that Harden's comments violated the league's rules against publicly discussing trades. This resulted in the maximum fine of $100,000. Under the new collective bargaining agreement, $100,000 is the maximum fine amount, and it is only imposed for actions or statements that are deemed to be biased or detrimental to the best interests of basketball, the NBA, or the teams, or for rule violations in recruitment.
