One of the greatest records of all time was likely broken at the conclusion of a record-breaking Test match. In Cape Town, the second Test match between South Africa and India ended in all but 107 overs (642 balls), the shortest in history. Not only did India tie the series 1-1 by winning the Newlands Test by seven wickets, but they also broke their own record, which had been 842 balls against England in 2021. On a single day, South Africa batted twice and took an incredible 23 wickets. On their ninth tour of South Africa, India lost 10 more players on Day 2 before rallying for 79 runs to win their first Test at the stadium.
