On January 5th, the Geth team developer @lightclients shared the content of the 178th Ethereum Core Developers Execution Meeting (ACDE) on the X platform. The meeting reaffirmed the Dencun upgrade on the Goerli testnet, scheduled for January 17th, and set January 30th and February 7th as the upgrade dates for the Sepolia and Holesky testnets, respectively.
If all goes well, developers plan to release the Goerli client next week, with the Sepolia/Holesky clients set to be released on the week of January 22nd. Additionally, the 179th ACDE meeting is scheduled for January 18th, and if any issues arise within the first 24 hours after the fork, the upgrade timeline will be reassessed. Developers have also decided that the next Ethereum upgrade will be the Prague/Electra (Pectra) upgrade.
Earlier in December, Ethereum developers had set tentative activation dates for the Cancun/Deneb upgrade on all three public Ethereum test networks. The testnet upgrade schedule is as follows: Goerli fork on January 17th, Sepolia fork on January 31st, and Holesky fork on February 7th. |
