The South Africa vs. India series' second and final Test match in Cape Town made headlines for all the wrong reasons. While Team India lost their final six wickets of the innings without adding a run to the 153-run total, the Proteas were all out for just 55 runs in the opening innings. It was the shortest Test match in the history of the format, with the visitors winning by seven wickets in just five sessions. Ashwell Prince, the batting coach for South Africa, and Indian captain Rohit Sharma both voiced their disapproval of the Newlands pitch during press conferences, which put the field under a great deal of scrutiny.
