U.S. Senator: What happened at the U.S. SEC is unacceptable, and Congress needs answers.
U.S. Republican Senator Bill Hagerty from Tennessee stated that what happened at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is unacceptable, and Congress needs answers. Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis from Wyoming also seeks an explanation. In a post on X, Lummis mentioned that fraudulent announcements, such as those posted on SEC's social media, could manipulate the market. Transparency about what happened is needed. Both senators hold seats on the Senate Banking Committee, which has jurisdiction over the securities market. |
