In the just finished T20I series against India, which the hosts won 3-0, Afghanistan's most influential hitters were two battle-hardened warriors, Muhammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib. While nearly every Afghan batsman found it difficult to exert pressure on the Indian bowlers, Nabi and Gulbadin were hitting home runs with abandon. Even in the third Twenty20 International in Bengaluru, Afghanistan's formidable 213-run chase was halted by a brilliant 56-run partnership for the fourth wicket in just 22 balls between Nabi and Gulbadin. Nabi was eliminated for 34 off 16 balls, but Gulbadin (55* off 23) continued to play until the very end and forced a Super Over.
