According to NBC News, a man in Tennessee, USA, purchased a lottery ticket and won over $1 million. However, he almost lost the ticket while shopping with his family, but fortunately, he found it in a parking lot of a store he had visited before.
The man, Nick Slatton, bought the lottery ticket and a drink at a grocery store on March 10. The next morning, Slatton was pleasantly surprised to discover that his purchased lottery ticket had won over $1 million after checking the results.
"I was shocked. I couldn't believe it," Slatton said. Afterward, he rushed to his fiancée Michelle's workplace to share the news with her. After sharing the good news, he did a series of things, including taking his brother shopping at an auto parts store. However, about an hour later, Slatton realized that he had misplaced the winning ticket and couldn't find it anywhere.
Previously, the Tennessee Lottery department encouraged lottery buyers to sign their tickets when purchasing "in case the ticket is lost or stolen, preventing others from cashing it." Slatton had to retrace his steps, and eventually, in the parking lot of an auto parts store, he found the ticket – it had fallen near the driver's side door of another car.
Officials from the Tennessee Lottery department later confirmed that in March, five tickets worth over $1 million each were sold in Tennessee, and Slatton was one of the winners. Slatton mentioned that he and his fiancée plan to continue working but intend to buy a new house, a car, and make investments. He expressed the hope for a "stress-free" life. |
