Another coach has officially announced departure at the end of the season. What's happening? Just a few days ago, there was news of Klopp leaving Liverpool after this season, and today, Barcelona's coach Xavi also announced the end of his coaching tenure. I mean, did you guys plan to leave together?

While it might seem like a wave of resignations, Xavi's departure from Barcelona was already a predetermined fact. Despite leading financially troubled Barcelona to win La Liga last season, the team's performance has plummeted this season, currently sitting in third place in La Liga, 10 points behind the first-placed Real Madrid and 8 points behind the second-placed Girona, essentially ending their title hopes.

However, what infuriates the fans even more is Xavi's conservative coaching style, with the team's offense and defense deteriorating. Although Xavi himself was a key player in Barcelona's past glory, he hasn't replicated the traditional Barcelona style as a coach. Even Xavi acknowledges that he is dragging down Barcelona and, given his status as a legendary player and interim coach, the club hesitated to let him go. Therefore, with the club unable to make a decision, he, deeply attached to Barcelona, has made the proactive choice to leave.

After making this decision, Xavi stated in an interview that he didn't want to be a burden to Barcelona and admitted that he's exhausted. He knows he can't be Barcelona's Ferguson because the media is too strict, and no coach can stay at Barcelona for a very long time. In the end, he emphasized that he won't change his decision, even if Barcelona wins the Champions League later this season. His departure is a done deal.

Now, Barcelona needs to think about who the next coach should be. However, given the current financial crisis, along with the unfavorable atmosphere within the team, it's a challenge to find a suitable replacement. Who do you think would be the right choice? Feel free to share your thoughts!

Reading this, I'm starting to wonder if the current stage of club coaches has secretly coordinated to leave their positions one after another at the end of the season and switch to coaching at each other's clubs~

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing. Why are there constant news about coaches resigning? First Liverpool, then Barcelona. It feels like a wave of changes... However, if the team is not performing well, giving the coach a break and bringing in someone new might help to some extent.

Xavi is still too young in coaching. Coaching is a different ball game at any time, no matter how well you play on the field, being a coach is a different story.

Klopp leaving Liverpool was a farewell embraced by the masses, and it was truly heart-wrenching. In contrast, the situation with Xavi leaving Barcelona is entirely different. Opponents' fans may wish for Xavi to continue leading Barcelona into decline, while Barcelona's own supporters might eagerly hope for Xavi to leave sooner rather than later. This is the difference between coaches. Barcelona's primary issue currently is financial; the team lacks the funds to acquire quality players, making it challenging to achieve good results. Despite unexpectedly clinching the La Liga title last season under Xavi's guidance, this season has seen Barcelona struggle even against some La Liga teams. With three losses and five draws midway through the season, they are a significant 8 points behind the league leaders. In La Liga, apart from Real Madrid, Barcelona doesn't have any real competitors. Such a dismal performance, coupled with a lack of funds for new players, makes it inevitable for Xavi to leave. Xavi's coaching career has just begun, and he cannot afford to tarnish his reputation at Barcelona. The pressure of coaching Barcelona is immense, especially considering its history as the dream team. The team's decline is significant, and as the head coach, facing criticism from the fans is inevitable. Xavi's decision to leave is a wise one. He can continue to develop his skills, and when he returns to coach Barcelona with the financial means to buy quality players, it could be a better choice.

It seems that being a great player also makes it challenging to become a successful coach.

Can they be compared? What achievements did Klopp have with Liverpool, and has Xavi won any championships while leading Barcelona? Klopp left Liverpool for physical and mental reasons, while Xavi is likely resigning due to immense pressure and the inability to produce results. One retired after achieving fame and success, while the other repeatedly faced setbacks and chose to step back quietly – a world of difference!

Resignation wave? Not really. This season is considered one with very few coaching dismissals. Back in the day, we used to see several coaches saying goodbye almost every month in a single league.
