India have made some changes to their squad for the final three Tests of the four-match series against England, which is currently level at 1-1. The third Test will begin on February 15 in Rajkot. The most notable inclusions are KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, who have recovered from their respective injuries that kept them out of the second Test in Visakhapatnam. However, the BCCI has stated that they will have to pass a fitness test before being cleared to play. Rahul and Jadeja add a lot of experience and depth to the Indian side, which is missing some key players. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami is still out of action due to an ankle injury he sustained during the World Cup last year. Star batsman and former skipper Virat Kohli is also unavailable for the series due to a personal reason. Another batsman who will miss the rest of the series is Shreyas Iyer, who suffered a back problem during the second Test. He has a history of back issues and has been advised to rest. This means that Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan will continue to be part of the squad. Siraj, who was given a break for the second Test, has been recalled to the squad. He will join Jasprit Bumrah, who is the vice-captain, Mukesh Kumar, and Akash Deep, who has replaced Avesh Khan, in the pace department. Saurabh Kumar, who was the backup spinner, has been released following Jadeja’s comeback. Here is the full squad for the last three Tests: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rajat Patidar, Ravindra Jadeja, KS Bharat (wk), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep. |
