In the 21st minute, Galeno's shot hit the goal post and then missed again, wasting a good opportunity to score. Arsenal's threatening attacks in the first half mostly came from corner kicks, but Saliba and Havertz's headers missed the goal. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw.
