A 56-year-old man from Oakville, Ontario, Canada, has won a LottoMax jackpot worth up to $22 million, becoming the newest millionaire in the Greater Toronto Area, and coincidentally, he learned the good news on his wife's birthday.
The winning man, named Miles, has been buying lottery tickets for the past 20 years, but he often forgot to buy them before the draw, so two years ago, he applied for automatic ticket ordering. When he went to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation in Toronto to claim his prize, he realized that the email he received was unusual: "When I got the email this morning, it looked a little different from what I've received before."
At first, I thought I had only won $22 and a free draw, and the amount seemed a bit odd. Then I looked again. I thought I saw $22,000. I looked at the email, counted all the numbers. That's when I realized I won the jackpot!
It seems the amount was a bit strange.
After realizing he had won $22 million, he exclaimed in surprise and showed his wife an email. She was curious why I was exclaiming, so I called her, showed her the screen, and said, 'Happy birthday! Our lives just got better in an instant.' Then he shared the good news with his children, who were astonished, and I won't repeat what they said.
Miles plans to use this unexpected money to pay off debts, share the prize with his family, and travel the world. |
