Do you know? A recent study has discovered an interesting phenomenon - people who get angry seem to live longer!
As children, we often hear our elders say that getting angry is not good, it affects health, and is an irrational behavior. However, a study from the University of Jena in Germany has pointed out a conclusion contrary to common sense: people who get angry tend to live 2 years longer than those who always restrain themselves from getting angry! This study was conducted on 6000 patients. They found that expressing negative emotions moderately can help maintain physical health and increase lifespan by up to two years. Well, it seems that getting angry is not entirely a bad thing!
On the other hand, if one constantly forces oneself to control anger and suppress negative emotions, it can lead to conditions like hypertension, kidney diseases, and even cancer. Life is full of various choices and trade-offs. However, even so, it doesn't mean we can freely lose our temper. After all, getting angry always has a negative impact on interpersonal relationships. So, the best approach is to release negative emotions appropriately, but not necessarily through getting angry. For example, one can try other methods like listening to music, engaging in physical activities, or doing things they enjoy to vent out emotions. |
