Each team typically secures sponsorship from brands to produce and sell their jerseys. Renowned brands like Adidas or Nike sponsor major teams. However, Barcelona might be considering a different approach. Reports suggest they are contemplating ending their 26-year partnership with Nike to create their own brand!

Barcelona's contract with Nike runs until 2028, but early renewal talks are not uncommon. However, Barcelona faces financial challenges, aiming for a larger contract to alleviate them. Consequently, they are seeking higher sponsorship fees from multiple competitors. Puma is reportedly negotiating with Barcelona, offering €100 million compared to Nike's €85 million annually.

Simultaneously, Barcelona is exploring another avenue: establishing their own brand. Leveraging their global influence, they aim to expand the market. Success could yield significant revenue, with profits from jersey and training kit sales. However, creating a brand is unprecedented for a football club. Barcelona's influence may not guarantee success, and competing with established giants like Nike and Puma presents challenges. Failure could exacerbate Barcelona's already precarious financial situation.

While making their own jerseys for profit is a good idea, shouldn't they stick with Nike temporarily given their current situation? This way, they can stabilize while venturing into jersey production. It seems like a safer bet financially, right?

"Barcelona jerseys aren't selling well anymore. Previously, with a team full of stars, Messi alone could possibly generate more jersey revenue than several other teams combined. But now...
Moreover, contracts have been signed, and they can't just be terminated at will."

Of course, they have to do these money-making activities. This is their financial lifeline. How could they not do it? All of these are treasures for the fans.

Barcelona is facing many problems at the moment, with the main one being financial issues. The emergence of such problems, I believe, is mainly due to ineffective personnel management and a decline in performance. If Barcelona still intends to rely on past achievements to make money, I'm certain they won't have a very promising future.

Actually, Barcelona's revenue-generating ability is not very poor. It's just that the high wages in the past few years have dragged down the team and led to the current financial difficulties. Nike is a big brand, and the partnership between Barcelona and Nike is beneficial for Barcelona's promotion, as Nike is the top sports brand globally. However, Barcelona is currently facing severe financial constraints. Nike's sponsorship amount is €85 million per year, but with additional clauses, if Barcelona fails to win championships, the actual sponsorship amount drops to €66 million, which doesn't even rank in the top 5. So, Barcelona's dissatisfaction is quite understandable. Meanwhile, their league rivals Real Madrid receive €120 million annually from Adidas, showing a significant gap. Therefore, Barcelona's concerns are justified. The current jersey contract runs until 2028, leaving four more years, so it's premature to decide whether to renew with Nike, switch to Puma, or establish their own brand. Barcelona may indeed seek a higher price, considering the club's extensive expertise and investment required in jersey production, promotion, and sales. However, to secure a better contract, Barcelona needs to achieve better results in the coming years. If they continue to perform as they currently do, only ranking third in La Liga, Nike and Puma might not be willing to offer a hefty sum.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are the most money-oriented teams. Whether it's investment or returns, they are a formidable force. Other teams at least care a bit about honor and emotions, but Barcelona and Real Madrid only care about profit. That's just how tradition goes.
