Some things just need to be shoved into your head, whether you like it or not, they just exist. But there are some people, oh, they're like living in their own woven dreams, choosing to turn a blind eye to the harsh reality, pretending as if nothing has happened. Especially online, there are such incidents. You tell others the truth, but they don't like it. In the end, they either block you or argue with you, but the fact remains the fact, and self-deception won't change that.

Why is that? It's really a tricky question. Perhaps because reality is too cruel, some people would rather hide in the corners of their minds, wrapping themselves in a pile of lies, as if that could keep the truth out. Maybe because they're afraid facing reality will be painful, so they simply choose to escape. After all, self-deception is much easier than facing problems head-on.

Sometimes, self-deception is also a means of self-protection. Faced with unbearable truths, some people feel they can't bear it, so they simply pretend it's a non-existent problem. Yeah, it's like burying your head in the sand, hoping that everything troubling you will disappear. But the problem is, these issues don't really disappear, they just hide away, waiting to erupt in a worse form someday.

Another possibility is that some people actually know the truth, but they choose to deceive themselves to maintain their so-called "perfect image". You know, people always like to present an impeccable image in front of others, to make themselves seem more charming, more capable. So, even if they know the truth isn't pleasant, they'll choose to cover it up with lies, just to maintain that "perfect" facade.

But you should know, self-deception is ultimately an act of avoiding reality. Even if you wrap yourself up tightly, the truth will eventually seep in and tear your heart apart. Face reality, although sometimes it may cause you pain, at least you won't lose yourself in a world of lies.

If you can't accept it, then don't; just live your own life.

It's better to face it squarely; always avoiding won't work either.
