The head coaches of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh expressed their dissatisfaction because they were not asked about having a backup day for their matches in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup.
Chris Silverwood, the head coach of Sri Lanka, and Chandika Hathurusingha, the head coach of Bangladesh, were not pleased with the Asian Cricket Council's choice to only schedule a backup day for the India vs. Pakistan Super 4 stage match in the 2023 Asia Cup. The ACC recently announced that the India-Pakistan match, scheduled for September 10 in Colombo, would have a backup day on September 11 in case of rain or bad weather. The weather forecast for that weekend and the following week doesn't look great, with a 90% chance of rain on Sunday.
If the India vs. Pakistan match is interrupted due to rain or bad weather on Sunday, it will resume from where it left off on Monday. Other teams in the tournament won't have the same benefit. If their matches are affected by rain or bad weather, they will share points.
Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are playing the first Super 4 match in Colombo, and both coaches were somewhat frustrated that only India and Pakistan were granted a backup day for their match.
