Former Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist believes that tapping into the experience and wisdom of iconic Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Yuvraj Singh could significantly benefit the Indian cricket team's World Cup preparations. These cricketing legends played pivotal roles in India's triumphant 2011 World Cup campaign, and their insights could prove invaluable as India aims to reclaim cricket's most coveted trophy on home soil.

In the 2011 World Cup, Sachin Tendulkar, in his final World Cup appearance, was the tournament's leading run-scorer for India, amassing an impressive 482 runs. Yuvraj Singh, who was named the Player of the Tournament, showcased his exceptional all-round abilities by scoring 357 runs and taking 15 crucial wickets. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, the captain at the time, saved his best for the final with an unbeaten 91, steering India to a historic World Cup victory. These three cricketing stalwarts have since retired, passing the baton to contemporary stars like Rohit Sharma, who shoulders the responsibility of leading India's quest for World Cup glory as the tournament returns to Indian soil after 12 years.

Gilchrist, a three-time World Cup winner with Australia, proposes that Indian team management should consider engaging with Tendulkar, Dhoni, and Yuvraj to share their wealth of knowledge and experiences with the current crop of players. While Dhoni had briefly been associated with the team as a mentor for the T20 World Cup in 2021, Tendulkar and Yuvraj have not held official roles within the Indian cricket setup. Nevertheless, Gilchrist believes that the time is ripe for these legends to contribute to the team's preparations.
