Hong Kong Police Commissioner: 83 Reports Received in the "JPEX" Case, Involving Approximately HKD 34 Million

On September 16th, Mr. Chris Tang Ping-keung, Commissioner of Police of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, gave an interview in response to recent cases involving fraud and data leakage at the virtual asset trading platform "JPEX." He stated that the police had received a referral case from the Securities and Futures Commission the day before, as it may involve elements of deception. The case is now being followed up by the Commercial Crime Bureau. As of the afternoon of September 15th, 83 people had reported the case, involving approximately 34 million Hong Kong dollars. A hotline has been set up for the public to inquire. Regarding the data leakage case at Cyberport in Hong Kong, Mr. Tang pointed out that a report had been received from Cyberport in August, and over the past month, they had been actively communicating with Cyberport. The related case is still under investigation.
