Why has the South African team become so weak?

South Africa has not been able to qualify for the Finals in any of the recent ICC tournaments. Do you think the South African team has become weak? If yes, why?

The South African Cricket team has become weaker than before surely. Before, players like Amla, ABD, Kallis, Duminy, and Steyn were the backbone of the team. Such players are still not replaced by the team. The team has not been able to play finals since then.

I believe this is because of the lack of talent hunt at the domestic level.

I don’t think the team has gotten weak. Yes, the previous team was a genius, but the current team is also a capable enough international team. There are star players like de Cock, Miller, Makram, Rabada, and Nortje, who can turn the match in their direction anytime. I am sure this World Cup, the South African team will be a good threat to everyone else.

Yes, the South African team has become weaker than before for sure. They hardly qualify for the knockouts and were defeated by the Netherlands in the 2022 T20 World Cup. I believe this is because of too much league cricket that has resulted in the weakening of the team.
