Axar Patel, the Indian allrounder suffered injuries during the Asia Cup match against Bangladesh and has been ruled out of the World Cup 2023.

Axar Patel is a good batter down the order for India. The range of shots and the hitting ability that he brings are essential for the death overs. Ashwin is a decent batter but can’t replicate the skill set of Axar.

I think losing Axar is not a big loss for team India. As the team already has a left-arm spin allrounder (Jadeja) and the replacement (Ashwin) has too much experience. Only Virat and Ashwin will be the players who will be playing in this World Cup but played in the 2011 World Cup too.

Last-moment injuries and replacements hurt every time. But India’s bench strength is too much. Ashwin is a great player who took many wickets under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Definitely, he can’t play shots like Axar… but he will not make us miss Axar for sure.
