Mahesh Pithiya is an Indian domestic player who has a bowling action that is quite similar to that of India’s spin wizard Ashwin. To practice Ashwin’s action, Australia called Pithiya to be their net-bowler.

Australia also contacted Pithiya to be their net bowler during the Border-Gavaskar trophy earlier this year. But this time, Pithiya has turned down Australia’s offer to be their net bowler. This is a good decision from Pithiya.

Mahesh Pithiya has turned down Australia’s offer this time. This might be a strategic move by the BCCI and the body might have told Pithiya in advance that Australia may reach out to him for the World Cup.

It is wise from Pithiya to turn down the offer. As earlier it was the Border Gavaskar Trophy that happens every 2 years… but this time it is the most prestigious and the most celebrated ODI World Cup. Ashwin will be a great threat to Australians this time.
