What is the process for participating in the Asian Games?

The Asian Games are in full swing and it is raining medals. The games were to happen in 2022 but were delayed due to Covid-19 and are now happening in the year 2023 after waiting for them for so long.

But, does anybody know what is the participation process for the games?

The process differs with every country. Each country has their own set of rules and parameters that its athletes should match in order to be qualified for the Asian Games from their country.

For each sport, there is a benchmark to be qualified by the athlete. For example - A runner must complete the 100m in a specific time to be able to qualify for the games. Every sport has its own qualification scenario.

The athletes have to pass the qualification test set by their country which is the same as the provision set by the Asian Games Committee. Then athletes are listed by each country and their names are sent to the Asian Games board.
