Why does the term "gambler" have a negative connotation?

Typically, there's a perception that "winning makes you want to win more, leading to bigger bets, and when losing, the desire to recoup losses can lead to deeper involvement, ultimately causing problems both in the gambling and personal aspects of life." In my opinion, individuals with such behavior shouldn't be called "gamblers" but rather "compulsive gamblers." Gamblers seek the thrill of gambling during the process, rather than obsessing over minor wins or losses.

There's a valuable spirit in gamblers that we can learn from: "Not saddened by losses, not overly delighted by wins." Gamblers can handle both losses and wins and are capable of letting go. On the other hand, compulsive gamblers risk their entire livelihood, while gamblers are aware of their limitations and understand the consequences of losing.

Gamblers are rational, while compulsive gamblers are not. A mature investor should embody what I refer to as a "gambler." After reading this piece, I believe everyone will have a fresh perspective on the term "gambler."

Control it well, and you're a gambler; lose control, and you become a gambling addict.

Is there any difference? Both are gambling, and it's a bad habit.

In that case, almost everyone becomes a "compulsive gambler."

"Gambler" seems like a profession, while "compulsive gambler" appears to be a bad habit.
