The long awaited cricket’s addition to the Olympic Games is finally here. Olympics 2028, which are going to be hosted by Los Angeles, now includes some new games which also have cricket.

This is all due to Virat Kohli’s popularity on social media. Kohli is the third most followed athlete on Instagram, which pressured the Olympic Committee to add cricket to the olympics. But let’s see if Virat will be available to play in 2028 or not.

This is huge for the future of cricket. Now, more nations will show interest in cricket and as a result, new teams will fight to play the World Cup qualifiers. I want to see Virat playing the olympics representing India.

This is really a good call. I am not sure of how many overs cricket will be played as cricket can be a long game. Even the shortest format needs at least 4 hours to wrap up. Let’s see and hope for the best.
