On October 19th, the Rockets lost to the Spurs 103-117 in a preseason game, and after the game, Tate was interviewed.
When asked about the Spurs' Barnes, Tate praised him, saying, "His talent is overflowing, really. It's rare to find a player with such height and such skilled techniques. Once he gains a little more weight, I believe he'll become a big problem in the league."
In this game, Tate primarily matched up against Barnes in the first half, which forced Barnes to miss his first five shots.
Throughout the game, Barnes played for 21 minutes, making 3 out of 10 field goals, 2 out of 5 three-pointers, 7 out of 8 free throws, scoring 15 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and recording 1 steal and 2 blocks. |
