"Tesla founder Elon Musk is known for his candid and outspoken speeches. Recently, he appeared on comedian Joe Rogan's podcast show, ""The Joe Rogan Experience,"" and during the over two-hour-long interview, he not only shared why he spent several billion dollars to buy Twitter but also discussed blockchain-related topics.

Musk: NFTs aren't even on the blockchain; it's just a URL pointing to a JPEG;
When assessing NFTs, Musk was blunt, stating: ""NFTs aren't even on the blockchain; it's just a URL pointing to a JPEG!""

Musk went on to explain that most NFT images are not stored on the blockchain. To be truly decentralized, data must be on the blockchain, and it shouldn't be controlled by any large company or corporation.

Interestingly, since most Ordinals on Bitcoin store images on the blockchain, Bitcoin wallet service provider Ordinals Wallet interpreted Musk's statement as, ""Elon Musk is more bullish on Ordinals than NFTs."" However, in reality, Musk did not express optimism about Ordinals' development during the interview.

Musk has mocked NFTs as ""seemingly replaceable."" Despite his praise for Dogecoin (DOGE) on multiple occasions, he has consistently expressed negative views on NFTs. He once tweeted a black-and-white picture that appeared to depict a psychologist treating a patient, with the comment: ""These NFTs, are they around us now?"" It seemed like he was using the delusions of a mentally ill patient to mock the NFT craze in the market.

When it comes to the rise of Profile Picture (PFP) projects like Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Musk changed his profile picture to a BAYC artwork collage created for an auction on Sotheby's official website. This seemed to be a way of mocking NFTs for not being truly ""non-fungible tokens"" and having strong replaceability."

If everything can be represented by NFTs, does it mean they're becoming less valuable?
