Indian pacer Mohammed Shami may miss the Test series against South Africa due to an ankle injury, with doubts about his participation in the two matches. Skipper Rohit Sharma and other players are set to depart on December 15, excluding Shami. Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and others will fly to South Africa on December 15. Shami, a conditional pick, had ankle pain and carried World Cup workload. No replacement is named yet. Rohit Sharma expressed empathy for fans, acknowledging their dream of winning the World Cup. The first Test is on December 26, with a three-day game starting on December 20.

I'm really saddened... Hope Shami recovers soon...

No... It's a massive loss for India After all, his track record in South Africa is outstanding. Hopefully, Prasidh can step up

I thoroughly enjoyed India's last two Test tours of South Africa. Despite losing both 2-1, I believe they showcased high-quality Test cricket. Although I've been hopeful for India to secure their first win in South Africa, losing Shami is a disappointing setback. Feeling disheartened already.......

I have a different opinion. While it's indeed regrettable for Shami, I am very excited about Prasidh and want to see how he performs
After all, you never know how someone will fare at the test level, but he gives me the feeling that he has that extra potential that will lead to good performances and success!!
