Ishan Kishan, the wicketkeeper batsman for the BCCI, has asked the cricket board to remove him from the Test squad for the forthcoming two-match Test series against South Africa, the BCCI has announced. As a result, the wicketkeeper was left out of the Test team. The budding talent excused himself from the World Test Championship series due to personal reasons. KS Bharat has been selected by the All India Selection Committee to take his place for the important series. During the West Indies tour this year, Ishan played in two Test matches and scored a half-century in the second, making his Test debut. The southpaw was left off of the ODI squad and did not get to play in the T20I series.

Ishan Kishan's absence from the Test series against South Africa adds an element of uncertainty to India's lineup. The BCCI's choice of a replacement reflects the strategic decisions made to maintain the team's balance and competitiveness in the upcoming matches.
