Shikhar Dhawan is one of India’s top limited-over players and the selectors ignoring him has caused fans and media to slam them for the hasty decision. Despite Dhawan’s prolific run-scoring across different tournaments and even in IPL, the selectors feel his glory days are gone. Such a massive shame for such a prolific batsman.

Shikhar Dhawan’s dropping has exposed BCCI’s politics of sidelining him over players from Mumbai and Western Zone in the domestic circuit. The decision has already proven a misfire in the first ODI vs. Pakistan when the openers were clueless against the Pakistani bowlers. A left-handed batter could have been a better cut for such conditions and the pacers.

The reason is that Dhawan is an easy pick while Sharma is backed by the management and despite a lackluster performance in batting and captaincy, the board is not inclined to drop him.
