The nature of sports has changed along with the climate in the Himalayan meadows of Gulmarg. The once-famous ski resort is now home to dusty cricket fields and a number of winter sports. Many of the employees at Hill Station claimed that their jobs have been eliminated by the lack of snowfall in the winters. Tariq Ahmad, a Gulmarg local who used to work as a waiter, is no longer present in the restaurant, unlike previous years. The 23-year-old boy, on the other hand, is more frequently spotted playing cricket in the desolate, dry fields.
