News on January 30th: Rockets rookie Amen Thompson was interviewed after today's training.
Thompson stated that he didn't intentionally imitate his idol LeBron James' playing style, although, like James, especially in the early stages of James' career, he, too, uses his height, athleticism, and vision to take on an organizing role before seeking points. Thompson mentioned that some of this influence might come from closely observing James for an extended period.
Thompson said, "It's not intentional, but I feel like I just love watching him play, and some things might come from him. I've also watched a lot of other players."
When asked about James' outstanding performance as the league's oldest player, Thompson said, "I'm not surprised. It's more like feeling crazy, you know? He's still doing those things in the game, and it's really impressive. But you know, I'm not surprised."
