The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Golden State Warriors 109-99 today, despite the absence of Curry and Green. Gafford made all five of his shots and scored 10 points. Over the past four games, he has made 33 consecutive shots, ranking second in history, just two shots shy of tying the league record held by Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain.

25-year-old Gafford was selected in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls and was later traded to the Washington Wizards before joining the Dallas Mavericks in February.

Before facing the Golden State Warriors, Gafford had not missed a shot in the past four games, making 28 consecutive shots. Today, he once again demonstrated high offensive efficiency through pick-and-roll plays with teammates Doncic and Irving, making all five of his shots for 10 points, along with 6 rebounds and a season-high 7 blocks.

Gafford's streak of consecutive shots today increased to 33, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain's record of 32 set in 1967, placing him second in history. The league record of 35 consecutive shots is also held by Chamberlain, set in 1967.

Gafford has the opportunity to tie or even surpass this 57-year-old record in tomorrow's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He said, "I try not to think too much about it. If I do it, that's great, and of course, I'll celebrate. But more importantly, I want to win the game."

Although the Mavericks won today's game, star player Doncic left the game early due to soreness in his left leg, playing 30 minutes and scoring 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 9 assists, ending his streak of seven consecutive triple-doubles.

As for the Warriors, Curry missed his third consecutive game due to a sprained right ankle, and Green was sidelined due to back discomfort.

The Warriors, including today's game, have a record of 1 win and 2 losses in the last three games and currently rank 10th in the Western Conference, with only one game behind the 9th-placed Los Angeles Lakers. The two teams will face each other on the 17th, which may affect the playoff seeding. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said, "Curry should travel to Los Angeles to join the team and hopefully play against the Lakers."

It's really common for stars to get injured.
