I have been gambling for ten years. During these ten years, I have experienced countless losses, amounting to tens of thousands. Initially, I used a computer to play only when it was quiet at night. Later, with a smartphone in hand, I played day and night, spending hours on it every day. If I were as diligent and dedicated to my work, I should have been recognized as an outstanding worker. Unfortunately, my job performance was not outstanding, and I never received any awards. However, the house gave me a consolation prize and bestowed upon me an "honorable" title: "Fortune-Bringing Child." Alas!

In these many years, I played lottery games. My initial approach was based on guesswork. I would speculate about what the next outcome would be, thinking if it's odd, I'd bet odd, and if it's even, I'd bet even. If I didn't win, I'd think about what might come next and adjust my bets accordingly. Later on, I observed other players' strategies and changed my approach to a fixed pattern, such as "odd-odd-even" or "odd-odd-even-even" for betting. It was a mix of wins and losses, and there was no guaranteed victory. However, because I set small goals for myself each time and played cautiously, fearing consecutive losses, I would usually quit when I won. Over time, I developed a misconception that my skills were good since I consistently won, not losing much.

Well, after getting complacent, I came across posts on the forum where others talked about how much they had lost. I started feeling proud, thinking to myself, "Look, many people aren't as good as me; they keep losing, and the more they bet, the more they lose. It's better to play small and win less." I was winning less, but ultimately, it was still winning.  It seems the deities heard my inner monologue and got upset. When I played lottery games again at night, my luck took a surprising turn for the worse. A series of losses hit me hard, and I found myself in a losing streak.

After this losing streak, I began to wonder if my strategy was flawed. So, I tried to figure it out and came up with new strategies. However, it led to the same tragic results. I thought that relying on myself might not be the way to go. At that time, someone on the forum was using software to assist in baccarat betting. So, I got myself lottery betting software, hoping it would make me rich. Ha-ha. The idea was good, but reality slapped me in the face. Using the software, though it had a higher accuracy rate than my own methods and saved me from thinking too much, still wasn't foolproof. When luck was on my side, I could win consistently and felt great. However, when luck was against me, I also suffered significant losses. I played with a progressive betting strategy, and several rounds of losses drained me. After losing all my funds in one go, I couldn't believe it. I felt that I couldn't be so unlucky to encounter a losing streak like this. I continued to follow the software's recommendations, but I kept losing. It was clear that the software couldn't help me win.

After experiencing multiple failures and repeating the same mistakes, I gradually realized that emptying my pockets wasn't a problem with the method; it was a problem with me as a person. Methods can have flaws, and that's okay. Once you discover the mistake, you stop using it and wait for the accuracy to return to normal before resuming. However, if the player has flaws, that's a major problem. It's people using the methods. When a person loses, they often refuse to accept it and insist on trying to recover their losses immediately, leading them into a dead-end, resulting in a tragic outcome. The root of this tragic fate lies within ourselves.

Indeed, the true source of losses lies within ourselves and is unrelated to the methods we use. Therefore, at any given time, if we can exercise self-control and restraint, we can prevent the occurrence of tragic outcomes and avoid developing ourselves into compulsive gamblers.

Indeed, it is a human issue, as people tend to act impulsively at times.

Any investment requires rational thinking and strong self-control, not to be misled by subjective fantasies or momentary greed. Understanding the essence of things allows us to better control our actions and destiny. Regardless of the methods employed, ultimately, it's ourselves who have control over our destiny.

That's right, it's a matter of human behavior, and human thoughts determine their actions. As one gets older, they tend to become more settled and less prone to impulsive decisions.
